Info for Tourist Parent
Everything you need to know about bring your family to Koh Tao. Including recommendations of accommodation, daycare services, and medical services as a mother.
My name is Claire Wyndham, I live on the island of Koh Tao with my husband and 2 children. My daughter is of daycare age and my son is in primary school. We love it here. We love it so much that instead of visiting once a year for a holiday, we decided to move over!
Located on North Sairee Beach, both these resorts are within walking distance of the main town, restaurants, bars, dive schools and childcare facilities. I like it here because it is quiet, has a lovely beach with an easy snorkeling attraction (The Japanese Gardens) just off the shore and the owners are lovely.
Koh Tao childcare recognises the need for childcare facilities on an island like Koh Tao. When travelling, I like my kids to get a cultural experience and go home with a sense that it was not just a holiday, but a learning experience. There are other reasons parents find they need Koh Tao childcare.
For the last year, more and more Chinese tourist families have been using the school during their family holidays on Koh Tao. They are excited to expose their children to English classes, but they are also intrigued by our unique curriculum and approach to learning. Chinese students have been embracing the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and are choosing to spend their time at the school, even when given the option to do other things with their families!
Koh Tao has just opened its first hospital. Staffed with fully qualified doctors and nurses they are open 24hours, have an ambulance and are even equipped to deliver babies. They are soon to open their dental clinic inside the hospital and I must admit, as a local it is a big relief to finally have a hospital equipped to deal with emergencies.
